U2's third album, War, was one of the most important albums of my early musical life. It was their filmed performance at Red Rocks, during the tour for this album, that made me want to become a musician. My mom had a copy of War and I immediately stole it from her collection (still have it) and began my long journey to now.

As the clock struck midnight on January 1st 2016, I got the idea to work up a version of "New Year's Day" from this album, and lay down a little recording of it. Afterwards, I think I started jamming on the riff to "Seconds" and, before I knew it, I was working out a cover of the entire album.

I will not try and claim that this is terribly good, but it was fun, and was nice to get out of my system. After wrapping up the album proper, I also worked up a version of the outstanding b-side, "Treasure", just for fun. These little sessions are a blast - challenging and fun - and I would really love to do more of these.
