about

One of my favorite creative projects is to just improvise ideas to a recorder. The key is to make them sound as legit as possible, despite being completely off the cuff. Several of my albums came into being this way. For every improv session that ended up yielding a finished work, there is at least one or two that never went anywhere. Or got lost and forgotten about. This session falls into both categories. This was discovered on my 8-track in 2017 or so and I was very surprised to hear these sketches and ideas that barely simmered in the back of my mind. While parts of the first track made its way into "Apparently", from Savage Graceland, none of these songs were ever developed further (the inclusion of the "Apparently" riff dates this session to January 2012 - literally the furthest that sleuthing that uncover). All of the titles were devised upon discovering this set and, while it is most certainly on the back burner, it is my goal to one day make sense of this and maybe record it as a real project. Until then....

Chris Anderson - BG Alexandria, Virginia

Songwriting demos, outtakes, live sets, band projects, pseudonym projects, and experimental sessions are what can be found on the BG label, The kind of stuff that would be bootlegged. What started out in 2005 as a limited run of 20 titles has grown to 200 and counting.... ... more
