about

One of the earliest bands that got my attention was Rush, and it was their mid-80's output that first turned me on. Those are the albums that I still gravitate towards, and those songs are part of the fabric of my life. I;m not sure what inspired this set, but it was probably just a result of sitting around and jamming on something that called to mind one of these songs, and then it snowballed from there. I would not in a million years even suggest that these takes do any justice whatsoever to the originals (so all you die hard Rush fans that take the band far too seriously, you can zip it right now). Instead, this is just me having a bit of fun. All of these tracks were recorded as voice memos on my iPhone and, as is usually the case when I devote an entire session to one band or artist, this took just about as long to record as it takes to listen. I'm pretty sure that I didn't even really work out these arrangements, instead just winging it and playing them in a way that allowed me to sing the songs, without getting all fiddly. Not great but this was fun, and that is literally the only thing that matters.

about

Chris Anderson - BG Alexandria, Virginia

Bootleg Records is my way of organizing recordings that wouldn't be considered for release on the Flying Dachshund Music label. Songwriting demos, outtakes, live sets, band projects, pseudonym projects, and experimental sessions are what can be found on the BG label, The kind of stuff that would be bootlegged. What started out in 2005 as a limited run of 20 titles has grown to 200 and counting.... ... more
